1) To be happy.
2) Try not to hurt others.
3) Be rich.

In another one of those character tests that reveal which character from a movie closely resembles yours, I took this Lord of the Ring character test from here. I am Gandalf! Now, that is neat. Here is what they say about me.

You're a wise old bird, aren't you? Like Gandalf you have a knack for clarity of vision. You see the whole farmyard, when everyone else is focusing on the small grain.

Of course this can be a terrible responsibility. And it can be extremely frustrating watching people flap merrily towards the biggest mistake of their lives and not being able to stop them. You see, they're not always grateful for the tip-off and, well, it's their loss and there's nothing you can do anyway.

No, you're not God, but you can offer good advice and often it's compelling enough that people actually take it. But it's lonely on top of the roost, isn't it? It's rather like being parent to a very large brood of children, and sometimes you find yourself being rather sharp with them. Because it's a thankless task and one built on self-sacrifice, but like any mother hen, your chiding pecks are only to set your chicks straight.

Still, the rewards are evident in the reverence people hold you in, the adulation they exhibit and, well, let's be straight here, that little touch of fear they feel for you. Nuff respect.

So now you know. Why not tell your friends so they can live the legend too?
Best wishes,

The Fellowship of the Carrots

Taxi Drivers

I don't know if it is just me, or just that taxi drivers are basically talkative. Almost all the taxi drivers tend to tell me stories whenever I take one. Here are some regarding woman drivers :

1) This taxi driver told me there was this incident where he was stopped at the traffic light waiting for green light. From his rear mirror, he saw a woman driver driving very fast towards him. He told his passenger that the woman has lost control of her car and he was hoping that she will not crash into him. She did. As the taxi driver got out of his taxi, the woman stormed out of the car, screamed at him, shouting at how he drives his taxi. The taxi driver was surprised since he was not clearly at fault. The woman driver challenged the taxi driver to make a police report, which he did. A few weeks later, the taxi driver received a lawyer's letter, it seems like the woman driver decided to sue him in court. The case is still pending, but as the taxi driver manage to get his passenger to be witness, I don't think the woman driver stands much of a chance.

2) Another taxi driver was driving on the first lane along Tuas. This woman driver which was on the second lane turn right into the first lane, and promptly slowed down. The taxi driver, on one hand trying to slow down, on the other promptly blink his head lights, signalling to the woman driver that he was behind. Next thing the taxi driver knows, the woman driver call the taxi company to complain. Luckily, the taxi driver had his passenger as witness.

3) This was personally encountered by me. In the underground tunnel along CTE, this woman driver suddenly cut 3 lanes to stop in front of my taxi. Luckily, the taxi driver manage to slow down in time. The taxi driver was cursing and swearing at her, telling me if he crashed into her, he is at fault. But it was very clear that the woman should not have cut 3 lanes and then suddenly stopped along the expressway.

I don't know if it has to do with gender, but a lot of taxi drivers have told me that everytime they drive near a woman driver, they are always on alert for any sudden action from the woman driver.

So are woman drivers poor drivers?

All alone.

Sent my gf off at the airport last night. She will be spending 3 weeks back in Aus. I am alone. Alone for Christmas. Alone for my birthday. Alone for our anniversary. Alone for New Year.

All alone.

I go to work around the same time each day, and as such, I tend to see a lot of familiar faces on the bus, on the MRT.

There is this man whom I see quite often. He is short, and always carry a plastic bag filled with newspapers. He seems like just one of those people who rushes to work each day except for the fact that he carries more than 1 handphone. Throughout the whole journey, he will fiddle around with 1 handphone, either SMS or calling his other handphone. What is irritating is the fact that ALL his handphones are too loud! He is either a handphone repair man, or some jerk who is trying to show off his handphones. Sometimes he will carry pagers too, always paging himself. At any one time, he has at least 3 handphones clipped to his belt. At first I was very irritated by his handphones, now I am just amused.

Ah, such interesting and funny people you get to meet everyday.

Work.

I received notice that I have to work on 16th and 17th of December, a public holiday and I have to work on 31st December and 1st of January too. I don't mind working on those days, but I do detest that my company will not reimburse me off-in-lieu for those days that I work. I will seriously need a break after this.

Oh, and I am sick too. Having a fever.

Took this Harry Potter Character Test. It said my character closely matches Professor Severus Snape. I love that character, long hair and dark, moody face.
