Right.

You are handling a lot of things all at once and are doing it so well that no one realizes how much you are stressing. You could try to take some of the pressure off your own tension by consciously imposing your order onto others, but this will just be another chore to add to the mix. Instead, eliminate some of the noise in your life by cutting back on what you are doing.

Right.

It was a pretty eventful week, to say the least.

The initial results from my treadmill test, which I nearly died after lack of exercise for so long, was pretty good. The doctor there said it is negative so far, which I responded, while my tongue was touching the floor, is negative good or is negative not good. He was almost laughing when he said negative means that none of my major heart blood veins were blocked. Now that is one load off my mind, though they still need to prepare a report in a week’s time for me.

Next was the start of the new project. Finding myself caught in the production rollout period of the previous project, and the initial period of the new project where I have to conduct a 4 days business workshop, I was putting in 15 to 18 hours of work. Surprisingly, I did not drop dead which lead me to wonder what happened. After giving it some thoughts, the following might explain why :

  • I am a workaholic now.
  • I am used to it.
  • I am enjoying what I am doing

I am leaning towards the first possible reason.

Another milestone was reached when the 4 days workshop was conducted mainly to a non-Asian audience, which was something that I have never done before. It was stressful at first, and I had to keep reminding myself to watch my spoken English, but other than that, the workshop went pretty well.

And finally, I sort of felt that I earned the respect my colleagues who were working for me, who were now doing tasks requested by me willingly. I guess when you show you really take care of them, they will return in kind.

So all in all, a pretty eventful week. Looking ahead, dare I say, a vacation perhaps in May, new people hired who will work for me, and I am sure, more challenges.

Overhead

Overhead an old man talking loudly into his handphone:

You take a taxi to Chinatown OG taxi stand, darling. I meet you there. Then after Hotel 81, we buy back ok darling?

Not hard to imagine what is happening.

Someone previously remarked to me that I do not have any other hobby besides World of Warcraft. As a matter of fact, I DO have another hobby, though I do not count WoW as a hobby. WoW is more like an addiction.

My other hobby, which is more expensive than WoW, is building LEGO. Yes, those building blocks toy that every kid used to play.  But there are many people in the world now, who are no longer a kid, yet still very interested in LEGO. There is even a term for it, called Adult fan of LEGO, or AFOL.

The thing I like about LEGO is that the quality of the bricks, quality of each design, and how each piece has a place in the overall design. Building LEGO destresses me, it promotes logical thinking, and encourages creativity. On one hand, every piece has its own place, on the other, it provides infinite flexibility to come out with something out of the box, something totally new.

With the limited time that I have, I have not been able to build that many sets, and I have many sets lying around waiting for me.

Two photos of the ones that have been completed :
